About CMG

Cycling Management Group is a sports management company specializing in cycling team and event management. Through CMG, sponsors are provided with an experienced day to day management team for professional and amateur bicycle racing teams as well as single and multi-day racing events.

CMG principal, Oliver "Butch" Martin is a former two-time Olympian. He was a member of the 1964 (4000 meter Pursuit Team) and 1968 (100 K Team Time Trial) Olympic Teams. In 1971 was a member of the U.S. (100 K Team Time Trial) Pan American Team. Butch also competed in Europe in 1965 and 1966.  He has 116 career wins including international victories in Italy, Canada and Mexico.

Butch's coaching career has been long and extensive and dates back to 1974. As U.S. National Road Coach and Olympic Team Road Coach Butch's riders produced breakthrough results in the Olympics and World Road Championships as well as victories in major domestic and international single day events and stage races. As a Trade Team Manager/Coach, Butch's riders won many of the top events in the United States.

For a number of years Butch was also involved in some of the largest and most prestigious events held in this country. He was Race Director of the Tour of the Americas. Many of the world's top professional teams and riders participated including Greg Lemond, Stephen Roche, and Pedro Delgado...All Tour de France winners. He also was Race Director of the West Virginia Mountain Classic and the U.S. National Road Championships. Butch was a member of the Board of Directors of USPro, the former governing body of U.S. professional racing.

Butch was inducted into the US Bicycling Hall of Fame in 2005.
